Little Hands is a place to learn, play, and discover together; a place where you’ll find support, family friendships, and partners in parenting; a safe place where you and your child will feel like you belong. As a parent and child co-op program located in Belmont, we help parents learn and grow alongside their children.

Parent Participation and Education |
At Little Hands, parents learn and have fun, too! There is nothing like working together, as a village, as a team, to help children learn and grow, and to help parents sharpen their parenting skills and find support. Parents enjoy teacher-led parent education discussions, and also help at stations to nurture, coach, and learn from all of the children. |
Class Offerings
BABY & Toddler- FRIDay AM
DAY/TIME: Friday mornings 9:15 to 11:15am AGES: 6 to 18 months Parents attend once per week with their child in our baby class. This class is a pure delight. As little ones go from sitting to crawling to walking, they have an entire “neighborhood” of families supporting them in the classroom. And parents find tons of support, too, as this community pulls together to help one another in this challenging stage of the parenting journey. The baby class starts a little slower as parents and babies learn to separate, trust and explore. And don’t worry about naptime - it always works out - really! Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies monthly via zoom. Older Toddlers - Wednesday & Tuesday AM
DAY TIME: Older Toddlers, Wednesday and Tuesday AM 9:15am to 11:15am AGES: 12 to 24 months Parents attend once a week with their children in our baby/toddler class. These one-year olds are a fabulous mix - some just taking steps and some ready to conquer the world. The class offers lots of adventure as these kiddos are given ample opportunity to explore and try new things in a safe and age-appropriate environment. The children get a taste of water play and fun sensory experiences, time to develop their large motor skills, and the opportunity to engage in lots of parallel play. Parents find great support as the children develop through some joyful and challenging stages! Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies monthly via zoom. Evening Class - Thursday PM
DAY/TIME: Wednesday Evening Class, 5:15-7:15 pm AGES: 6 months to 4 years (siblings up to age 5) Children participate in a weekly circle time on Thursday evenings that include songs, stories, some show and tell or sharing, and more. Parents join together twice monthly for parent ed and lots of support! Our evening class offers a great way to get ideas, stay connected, find support, and allow your child to grow and learn a little each week. The cost is per household, so siblings can join in! Terrific Two's - TUEs/ThURS AM
Terrific Twos DAY/TIME: Tuesday and Thursday 9:15am to 11:15am AGES: Must be 2 by September 1 There is nothing quite like being a two-year-old! In this fabulous class of twos, parents attend once per week, and children attend twice per week. (During COVID, we will take the first few weeks to get used to things as small groups (details set by your teacher prior to starting) and depending on parent count and safe social distancing, we will work with families whose children are not quite ready for drop-off.) During this year, we, together, have the privilege of playing and learning alongside the children as they move from toddlerhood to becoming preschoolers. It’s a year when parents need support, too, and as a class we work through the “terrific two’s” together. These two-year-olds also get to experience a “new space” because our older classes take place in the back with our bigger classroom and expansive play structure. So much to do, explore, learn, pretend, create and more – our Two’s program has it all. Parents share in teacher-led class discussions monthly via zoom. Three's & Four's - MON/ WED/Fri
DAY/TIME: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings 9:00 to Noon AGES: Must be 3 or 4 by September 1 Parents attend once per week, and children attend three times per week in our Three’s/Four’s class. Drop off begins in Week #2. (Note: Drop off is not mandatory. Also, children who are not ready or able to be dropped off will need a parent to stay until a successful transition can be made.) Our three and four year olds enjoy all the fun of our Little Hands classes with some added preschool opportunities. They learn through discovery and play as they spend time creating, imagining, cooperating, participating in group activities, and making new friends. Lots of science, reading, baking, and special projects make learning so much fun! In our new extended format, children will enjoy a lunch together at the end of class (brown bag lunch provided by the parent). In lieu of in-class discussions, parents in the Three’s/Four’s Class enjoy 3 evening parent education discussions throughout the school year. VirTUAL Parenting Together - Thursday PM
