Little Hands is a place to learn, play, and discover together; a place where you’ll find support, family friendships, and partners in parenting; a safe place where you and your child will feel like you belong. As a parent and child co-op program located in Belmont, we help parents learn and grow alongside their children.

Parent Participation and Education |
At Little Hands, parents learn and have fun, too! There is nothing like working together, as a village, as a team, to help children learn and grow, and to help parents sharpen their parenting skills and find support. Parents enjoy teacher-led parent education discussions, and also help at stations to nurture, coach, and learn from all of the children. |
2023-2024 Class OfferingsBABIES - Thursday AM
DAY/TIME: Thursday mornings 9:15 to 11:15am AGES: 6 to 13 months Parents attend once per week with their child in our baby class. This class is a pure delight. As little ones go from sitting to crawling to walking, they have an entire “neighborhood” of families supporting them in the classroom. And parents find tons of support, too, as this community pulls together to help one another in this challenging stage of the parenting journey. The baby class starts a little slower as parents and babies learn to separate, trust and explore. And don’t worry about naptime - it always works out - really! Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies. Younger Toddlers - Wednesday AM
DAY TIME: Wednesday AM, 9:15 am to 11:15 am AGES: 12 to 19 months Parents attend once a week with their children in our toddler class. These adventurous one-year olds are a fabulous mix - some just taking steps and some ready to conquer the world. Children will have ample opportunity to explore indoor and outdoor learning spaces in a safe and age-appropriate environment including early experiences in art, sand and water play, playdough, and fun sensory experiences. Parents find great support as the children develop through the joys and challenges of this busy age group! Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies with a new topic introduced every 3 weeks. older Toddlers - Tuesday AM

These older toddlers are busy learning through play as they challenge their growing bodies and minds while exploring their interests in our indoor and outdoor spaces. Climbing, riding, painting, building, singing, and exploring sensory activities including water, sand, playdough, and more, fill their mornings as they form first friendships and develop emerging social skills. Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies with a new topic every 3 weeks. TwoS - TUEsday & WednesDAY AM
DAY/TIME: Tuesday & Wednesday 9:15am to 11:45am AGES: Must be 2 by September 1 It's great to be the big kids on campus and our back space is built for fun! In this fabulous class of two year olds, parents attend once per week, and children attend twice a week. Our expanded program allows children more time for play-based learning. During this year, we get to experience a “new space” because our older class takes place in the back with our bigger classroom, mixing station and expansive play structure. So much to do, explore, learn, pretend, create and more! Parents share in teacher-led class discussions monthly during discussion week. Parents return to class at 11:30 to share in circle time before dismissal at 11:45. Drop off begins in week #3. (Note drop off is not mandatory. Also, children who are not ready or able to be dropped off will need a parent to stay until a successful transition can be made.) Mixed age family clASS - WEDNESDAY PM
DAY/TIME: Wednesday evenings 5:15pm to 7:15pm AGES: 12 months thru 4 years (siblings up to age 5) Parents attend once per week with their child in our Wednesday evening Family Class. This wonderful class is the perfect fit for working families that are unable to enjoy the benefits of co-oping during the day. The mixed age range is also great for families with siblings. The Wednesday PM class is also a favorite for parents who just want one extra class per week or who are involved in other daytime programs. Families in this class share dinner instead of snack - it’s like a little family reunion each week! The mixed ages allow for a wonderful dynamic between kids, and families build a true sense of community and friendship! Parents participate in teacher led discussions which focus on child development and parenting strategies with a new topic every 3 weeks. |
